Outdoor event with food stalls and tents at Downey Elks Lodge.

On Woodruff Avenue in Downey, Lodge #2020 has been the kind of place where you walk in as a neighbor and leave as a friend. Members describe it simply: great people, a safe environment, and the kind of easy camaraderie that's getting harder to find. The lodge draws a 4.4-star rating across dozens of reviews, and that number holds because the people here actually show up for each other.

The banquet facilities at Lodge #2020 have hosted everything from milestone birthday parties to full wedding receptions, and the staff earns consistent praise by name. One bride's mother called out coordinator Angie specifically for going out of her way to make the entire reception wonderful. That's not a fluke. It's the culture of the place.

Beyond the celebrations, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is one of America's oldest fraternal organizations, and this lodge carries that tradition into the day-to-day life of Downey. Members stop in after a walk, share a meal, raise a glass, and support community programs that make a real difference locally.

What We Offer

Lodge #2020 offers members a full-service bar and dining area where you can grab a meal or enjoy a beer in good company any day of the week. The atmosphere is relaxed, the crowd is familiar, and the price is right. It's the kind of spot regulars return to because it actually feels like theirs.

The banquet hall is available for private events including wedding receptions, quinceañeras, anniversary parties, retirement celebrations, and corporate gatherings. The team handles setup coordination and works directly with clients to make events run smoothly. Angie and the events staff have a reputation for attentiveness that goes well beyond just unlocking the doors.

Membership in the Elks fraternal order opens doors to community service involvement, youth programs, veterans outreach, and a national network of lodges. Whether you're new to Downey or a longtime resident looking for a place to plug in, Lodge #2020 offers a genuine community that does real work.

"I'm from the Pasadena Elks and I've been to the Downey Elks various time. Last Thursday my boyfriend and I went in, I sign the visitors book and we sat down at the bar. I was ask for my card and I couldn't find it. 3 members said they remember me but this one lady had an attitude. Even though she remembered me she would not give the bartender the okay to served us. She was rude. This rude member had actually given me an application to also be a member there. We left to the Eagle's instead."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
